Cover Art Contest!

Calling All Political Buddhist Visual Artists!

We want to feature your breathtaking work on the five covers of our 2013 PDF series for The System Stinks.

Illustrators, graf artists, graphic designers, doodlers, painters, wood block printers, calligraphers, photographers, collagists: all are welcome!

We are able to offer a humble stipend of $25 per cover — though we know that artwork is in some ways priceless.  We appreciate you sharing your visions of compassionate politics with members of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship all around the world.

How To Enter:

Illustrate the first of our 5 themes:
The Lies That Build Empire

Send us a 300dpi digital image of your art, size 8.5×11” PDF, via our Dropbox.
(password: socially engaged)

Deadline: January 20th — we’ll announce the winner(s) on January 23rd.

Good luck!  We can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for submitting your work, Andrew! We’ll be announcing the results soon over here, thanks for checking in about it.

  • Nigel Smith

Have you announced the results somewhere? Sorry I couldn’t them.

  • Katie Loncke

Hi Nigel, thank you for checking in — yes, we made the announcement here: http://www.buddhistpeacefellowship.org/we-have-a-winner-2013-cover-art-contest/

I’m sorry your entry didn’t win; we really loved it as a work but we felt that Andrew’s was more topical and directly translating what we needed for the PDF covers. But your Bridge Crossing piece was very powerful — we hope you’ll consider submitting your work for regular publication here on Turning Wheel Media! Just email us at submissions [at] turningwheelmedia [dot] org anytime you have engaged Buddhist art you would like to share.

    Thank you so much!
