The event is billed as a “day to gain understanding of the connection between Buddhism and women’s everyday lives.Speakers are Rev. Patti Oshita, Buddhist Church of Sacramento, whose topic is “Everyday Buddhism;” Rev. Dr. Shoyo Taniguchi, Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church, who will speak on “The Science of Happiness;” and Dr. Sharon Suh, Seattle University, who will address “the role of race and racism in the construction of an American Buddhism and what it means to be an Asian American Buddhist today.”
