Sick Day With Tea

Hey everyone, Katie here. When I woke up this morning, that popular summer cold had finally caught up with me. (Hope you’ve evaded it so far — if it’s summer where you are, that is!). That, plus some technical difficulties with uploading files, means I won’t be able to post a new feature today like I’d hoped. Sorry! We’ll definitely have one tomorrow, though.

In the meantime, I’m wishing you well over many glasses of tea: genmai cha, rooibos, and homemade ginger-lemon-honey-cayenne.

Many thanks to Kim for helping me hold it down while Everett and Dawn are practicing on retreat ( — may it benefit them and others!).

Got any recommendations for healing teas? I’d be most appreciative. :)

Elderberry tea is excellent for colds.

    Ooh, thanks Nathan!

Yeah, elderberry (add a little mint) is nice. I like anything with Ginger in it when I’m sick. And if I have a cough I like to take some Chamomile w/Honey. The honey is for the cough, and the chamomile puts me right to sleep.

oh, and one more I use sometimes in Nettle tea for allergies (though I understand it has some other benefits as well). It doesn’t taste very good, but you can definitely feel it work.

Mm, yeah, a lot of herbalist folks I know are into nettle tea. I don’t know if I’ve ever had it. But it’s worth a shot! Not all teas need to be yummy. :)
